The UNEP-World Conservation Monitoring Centre has published the latest edition of its periodic briefing note on developments relevant to the implementation and enforcement of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR).
The briefing note covers August 2017 to October 2017. It summarises recent EUTR enforcement actions and related activities in Sweden, Denmark, the United Kingdom. It includes news of new online resources and of a project looking at Chinese imports to Nordic-Baltic countries.
The note also includes a roundup of news related to illegal logging in EU member states and around the world. It summarises recent policy developments and publications, and provides an overview of the FLEGT/EUTR expert group meeting in Brussels in September 2017.
The briefing note is compiled by UNEP-WCMC as a consultant of the European Commission in close cooperation with the Member States Competent Authorities.
